We can finally, finally say that summer is around the corner. May 2-4 weekend typically marks the commencement of Summer for us Canadian folk, and with the temperatures at long last reaching double digits on the regular (even hitting the 20s a few times!), patios have opened up and people are out and about walking with gasp, no coats! It’s a lovely feeling after 6 months of cold to finally be warm again!
With that said, summertime means cottage time. And cottage time means Muskoka! I don’t know about you, but once the May 2-4 long weekend hits I’m ready to leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind me and start planning the upcoming season’s weekends away in Canada’s not so best kept secret. Just kidding, summer time in wedding world is high season so Brightside Films is heading full fledged into the Summer season eagerly awaiting the weddings ahead of us each weekend. But, I must say we are privileged enough to work at some of Canada’s top venues in one of the world’s highest rated vacation spots (no for real, it is)
If you’re a wedding aficionado like the team here at Brightside Films, then you’ll agree that one of the best things about vacationing up in Muskoka’s best resorts is that there’s always a wedding happening. Just seeing a bride and groom getting their pictures taken always sets my heart a flutter! Call me a romantic, but it just makes me so happy to see all that love! But for real, actually every single weekend at every single Muskoka resort there is at least one wedding. Why? Because it has the most beautiful, natural backdrop of course!
So with that said, for the duration of the Summer season, we will be featuring some of our favourite Muskoka wedding venues starting today, appropriately on the eve of the May long weekend. First up on the docket? Taboo Muskoka Resort!
Taboo Resort, located in Gravenhurst, ON, is chock full of amenities and is the perfect Muskoka venue for a wedding. Indoor or outdoor, Taboo has a variety of locations available for both a ceremony and/or a reception including a large white tent complete with washrooms, state of the art conference rooms and a Boathouse restaurant overlooking Lake Muskoka to name a few. Not to mention their world renowned golf course and spa facilities to round out the ultimate wedding weekend.
