Meet Britnney and Briggs. They just got married this past weekend, but it was not their first time down the aisle together. In fact, they had done so together twenty years ago!
Twenty years ago, Brittney Fussy and her now husband Briggs met for the first time as the flower girl and ring bearer in Briggs’ godmother’s wedding. Brittney’s mother was friends with Brigg’s godmother. The newlyweds don’t remember much from the wedding as they were both only 3 years old, but Brigg’s does remember Brittney being a ball of energy, “She’s running around the whole time, she’s pulling on my godmother’s dress the whole time and making commotion,” he said.
Fast forward years later, the pair didn’t keep in touch but fate brought them together again when they were both placed in the same class in grade 9. After Brittney recognized Briggs’ unique name, she went home to look for an old picture from the wedding and showed it to him. “When she showed me the picture, I said, I have one just like that on my wall at home,” Briggs said.
The rest is history! The pair started dating in junior year and five years later were engaged, much to the delight of their families. “My godmother was freaking out about it, taking credit for it,” he said.
The couple walked down the aisle for a second time this past weekend (this time as husband and wife!). How cute is that? It just goes to show, you never know how or when you’ll meet your true love.
