Another New York Bridal Market has come to a close so it’s time for us to recap the biggest trends.
It’s apparent that today’s bride is no longer after the conventional white ballgown. Every season bridal designers have been getting more creative and edgier with their collections trying to appeal to the many varieties of brides and wedding styles we now see today. The wedding industry has exploded into smaller sects over the last decade as Millenials start to wed. We have modern weddings, boho weddings, rustic weddings. and that’s only a few! Today’s bride wants a wedding dress that suits her and her wedding, meaning designers need to start evolving to cater to the different tastes.
Most of the trends from New York’s Fall 2015 Bridal Fashion Week certainly cater to a younger, edgier bride and it’s an interesting shift. If this isn’t apparent simply in the collections, famed designer Vera Wang who is most well known for her sensual, romantic and traditional wedding dresses, described her Fall 2015 collection as “sexy, sensuous, young, cool and beaded.” Of course, the majority of the collections are still classic, romantic styles, but it’s hard not to notice that many of the biggest fashion houses are making drastic changes.
Take a look at the biggest trends to come out of Bridal Market below. I should note that we only focused on dresses, but there were quite a few pant suits, rompers, and separates that were featured this year as well. What do you think? Do you love that wedding dress designers are beginning to cater to specific styles and loosen up, or do you prefer the classic, traditional white wedding gown? Share in the comment section. We’d love to hear from you!
